Iridescent Royal

Nothing catches my eye more than a dress with lustrous elements and a splash of bold coloring- especially during the most festive time of the year. In exchange for the usual warmer tones that I adore, cooler hues are definitely going to be a comeback in my wardrobe for the upcoming 2014.
Check it out.

The winter has since drained out the color in me, and by the time I knew it, a day or two of black and white clothing suddenly turned into everyday. The Minnesota weather has made it difficult to transition our fall and spring pieces into practical winter-wear; Sometimes the change in color is so drastic that it's inevitable to not wear black in the wintertime. But instead of trying to force yourself to get rid of the darkness, I find that the easiest way is to go a few shades lighter, and progress from there. By the time you know it, there's been a fair amount of well-acumulated items that can easily be useful for a different season and doesn't necessarily have to be packed away for the next snow day.
With basic knowledge from the color wheel, the cool tones are great for transitional pieces. Blue especially is the mediator for those who are shy of the eccentric colors, myself included.
This dress is absolutely perfect in many ways. The natural and structured flair gives a nice A-curve to a straight figure body like mine and the color is stunning because the gleam reflects little slivers of purple (my favorite color) into the royal blue. Not to mention the coiled texture! And although this dress can easily be worn during any time of the year, the silver diamond statement necklace serves as a reminder of the cold frost outside...not that the snow in the background doesn't also hint at that too.
